Proofreading

Proofreading is a necessary last step to ensure all English language errors have been corrected before publication.

Accuracy in spelling, punctuation, capitalization, word choice, parallelism, and subject-verb agreement can mean the difference between success and failure.

I will take the burden of having correct grammar off your plate.

With 17 years’ experience as an English teacher, I have a sharp eye and understand the necessity of a quick turnaround time. As a successfully published author, I understand the value in having clean manuscripts so that readers may enjoy the story without tripping up over faulty sentences and incorrect comma usage.

I offer my proofreading skills for the following:

Manuscripts:

Novels, Novellas, Short stories, and General Non-fiction (biographies, memoirs, self-help books, etc.)
Authors should expect their books to be appreciated for presentation as much as content.

For Indie authors, this is especially crucial as there are far more readers out  there who frown at sloppy grammar than we realize. Let me take the guesswork out of your hands. I promise to give your manuscript a thorough read with line-by-line proofreading so that those pesky commas know their place.

Manuscripts should be submitted in Word Documents or PDFs.

books by Elizabeth carroll

As a kid, Elizabeth Carroll always loved stories and spent as much time daydreaming as she did playing Barbie with her sister. Because her imaginary friends hung around even when there was nothing more to say, she decided to try her hand at writing and has found great delight and purpose for all the little people in her head. Her published stories are part of a young adult fantasy series, but she also currently has a children’s novel in the works as well as a love story and an historical fiction novel.
